Booking a free IT disposal collection

Step 1 (Booking a collection)

The first step in booking a collection with us is to contact us either by phone or email. You can simply inform us of the quantity of items you wish to have disposed of and provide us with a time and date that suits you. Once we have this information, we will book you in for your free collection! Feel free to reach out to us at your convenience, and we'll take care of the rest

Vans we use for free it disposals

Step 2 (Collection)

Collections involves our secure van being dispatched to your location with one of our DBS checked drivers. These drivers are trained professionals who will arrive at your specified location to collect the items you wish to have disposed of. They will carefully load the items onto the van, ensuring safe handling throughout the process. Once loaded, the van will transport the items to our 24/7 security-monitored secure unit. This facility ensures the safety and confidentiality of your items until they are properly processed. Rest assured that your items are in good hands throughout the transportation and storage process.

Step 3 (Asset Tracking)

Every item collected will be serial scanned onto our system for tracking purposes. This ensures that each item is accounted for and properly logged into our database. You will receive an email containing the list of scanned items as proof that we have taken possession of them for decommissioning and dismantling. This email serves as confirmation that your items are in our custody and will undergo the appropriate recycling or disposal processes. Our thorough tracking system provides transparency and accountability throughout the entire recycling process.

Step 4 (HDD Removal)

Any item collected will be double-checked for any hard disk drives (HDDs) that may contain your data. Our trained technicians will carefully inspect each device to identify and remove any HDDs present.

Once removed, each HDD will have its serial number logged into our system. This meticulous process ensures that every HDD is accounted for and properly tracked. By logging the serial numbers, we maintain a comprehensive record of the HDDs removed from your devices, providing an additional layer of security and accountability.

Step 5 (Data Destruction)

We ensure that all data contained on the hard disk drives (HDDs) is fully destroyed to protect your privacy and security. To achieve this, we utilize our USA Military approved HDD crushing machine, which guarantees complete destruction of the data storage components.

Once the data destruction process is complete, all serial numbers of the destroyed HDDs will be sent to you via email. Additionally, if requested, we can provide photo evidence of the destruction process to further reassure you of the thoroughness of our procedures.

Step 6 (Segregation)

Our trained staff carefully segregate the items onto pallets according to their respective categories. This meticulous process ensures efficient handling and preparation for the next stages of the recycling process.

Segregation enables us to streamline the recycling process by grouping similar items together, making it easier to dismantle and recycle them effectively.

Step 7 (Dismantle)

Our trained technicians carefully disassemble the equipment, separating different components such as precious metals, cables, and motherboards.

This process is conducted in accordance with guidelines set by the Environmental Agency to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Step 8 (Grading)

By grading the circuit boards, we can determine the most appropriate next steps for each board. Grade A boards may be refurbished for reuse, while Grade B or Grade C boards may undergo further processing for recycling or recovery of valuable materials.

Our grading process ensures that each circuit board is handled and processed according to its grade, maximizing the value and sustainability of the materials recovered from electronic waste.

Step 9 (Refinement Preparation)

Once cleaned and processed, the motherboards are ready to be sent to UK refinery's for further processing and recovery of valuable materials. This typically involves extracting precious metals and other valuable components from the motherboards through specialized refining techniques.

By meticulously preparing the motherboards for refinement, we ensure that the materials are efficiently recovered and recycled, minimizing waste and maximizing resource recovery in an environmentally responsible manner.
